What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic long-term inflammatory skin condition which mainly affects the face (nose, cheeks, chin). It's more common in people with fairer skin and women, however, symptoms can be worse in men. Treatment can help control the symptoms. The image to the left shows what Rosacea looks like on the skin.

Some of the most common triggers include: extreme temperatures, alcohol, exercise, spicy food, fragranced skincare and sun. One of the best ways to manage is your Rosacea is to try and avoid these triggers/ aggravations.
Tips for Rosacea Prone Skin
- Wear a broad specturm SPF every day, of at least SPF 30
- Try to avoid sunlight, heat or humid conditions where possible. Wearing a hat can help with this.
- In cold weather try to cover your face.
- Use skincare products which are gentle and for sensitive skin.
- If you suffer from blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid), clean your eyelids at least once a day with a soft flannel or cotton wool.
- Try to manage your stress as this can aggravate Rosacea.
